Hope the tree ice sublimates some with the wind and dry cold air before temperatures drop tomorrow - I think trees will get more brittle with the cold. So far nothing drooping too severe in Keller.

Porta, and Wxman57, I see snow signatures on the radar, Amy hopes for the warm nose to change? For Austin?

Still just sleet here. If the changeover to snow doesn’t fallen within the next couple of hours, might just get a solid inch of sleet from this whole storm. Bummer, but thankful the FZR didn’t stick around.

Hope more develops to the west. Thought it was supposed to last until noon.

Good sleet pile, just need a switch to snow.

Got up briefly to check.

The main event heading towards DFW from the southwest, heavy sleet transitioning to snow from west to east as it moves through. Buckle up, this is where the accumulations will happen!

Just checked outside here. Driveway and street has a thin layer of sleet. No snow yet. Grass is still visible.

Are we still on target to get snow per your post?

What a mess, snow on top a layer of ice.......

I think it all depends on the stuff around Stephenville making it up this way

On target, just depends on where you’re located in the Metroplex….snow transition will occur quicker the further west you are. I’d guess 1-3 inches across DFW with highest totals across West 1/2 of Metroplex

I don't know that it will change over before it ends this afternoon. New HRRR has most precip ending across Austin by 3pm today and by noon in the D-FW area. In general, precip amounts look lighter than has been predicted. Maybe a little sleet here in Houston this afternoon.

DFW has a ways to go with heavy precip and training. Radar-casting... it would seem the back edge will start moving through mid to late morning.

Enjoyed all the maps and discussion on this board the last few days. Overall, I'm amazed at how well these systems are forecasted nowadays, down to relatively small areas where the bullseye will be. Back in the 80s and 90s Lucy was quite a regular with these systems. ha. And it was more of a guessing game as to where the bullseye would be.

The main freeze line is on top of me, looks like we spent the night hovering between 32 and 34.

According to radar western Tarrant and Denton counties should be switching to snow with the batch coming in from the S-SW. Transition looks like ,eyeballing, is in eastern Tarrant co and NW Dallas co. Not sure of ground truth though.

Still sleet in western Tarrant, radar depiction not very accurate

We had this issue yesterday in Oklahoma and the Falls with the warm nose being stubborn.

Dunno about snow but what a wild night around here ... we ended up getting heavy thunderstorms with flooding. That has transitioned into a mix of freezing rain and sleet currently. All of the water from the storms will no doubt freeze up and we could have a bunch of mini hockey rinks around here later today!
