Re: Texas Winter 2021-2022
Granted it’s a 10 day forecast and accuracy is probably not perfect. However, it doesn’t look good for any type of cold or even cool temps. Hopefully that can and will change. It’s way too early for spring.

Re: Texas Winter 2021-2022
With the expected warm up over the next 10 days maybe we can score a snowstorm between Feb 18 to early March. After that we can go into full spring mode. Winter has flown by.

What's all this garbage I've been reading about me loving cold weather? I don't want to ever see ANY temperature below 80F.

Hopefully, we can get some freezes still until the end of the month. Don't want an early spring. May need to put the preemergent down next weekend.

Even for lows? Seems evil.

Starting to become a little more intrigued by Feb 16-18th system...Euro ENS is going towards a very similar setup to last weeks system, just not as cold at this point. GEFS isn't as convinced but a few show some potential

Weather geek and a storm spotter in West Austin. Not a degreed meteorologist. Big snow fan. Love rain and cold! Despise heat!

The GEFS has been hinting around at that particular setup but it has been really inconsistent the past five days.

Would we need alot of changes to get it more exciting for us? It's still 9 days out.

Re: Texas Winter 2021-2022
Was coming to post that after the 12z Euro. This system looks to dig more but it ejects farther north and the air over the top isn't as cold. Either way, this looks like it could be a nice soaker for Texas.

This may not be Texas related, but Alaska has recorded a wind chill of -91°F earlier today.

Was going to bring up the setup has shades of last week. Need that northern wave to slow a bit. I'll take the rain over snow though.

That day 9 storm on the GFS is looking more interesting for something. Of course to be fair it's day 9

The GFS may be developing consistency & it has trended further south compared to 6z GFS.
Edit to add: KFOR has taken note of this in the same timeframe, they do have a 30% Confidence level because of the high uncertainty between either Severe Storms or a Snowstorm for this system.

YES! More cold, snow, sleet, and freezing rain possible for Texas next week! I can't wait!
What the hell are you talking about? This system looks much less severe and more progressive. Sure, we'll get a little cold air, but winter is on its way out now.

Dear Mr. Groundhog, would you care to weigh in on a projected weather day for Feb. 20th, way down in New Orleans? Asking for a friend who is riding in a Mardi Gras parade.
