I just don't see this front pulling back to the north like some of the models wanted to do a day or 2 ago. Front may not pull back north in time, and most of the precip Thursday will be frozen type.

I'm at 32.9, been dropping steadily since sunset.
Freezing rain is a winter mode most of us don't like that much. Quite honestly it's the most boring to look at. Looks like rain but glazing. It's most dangerous though. Sleet is good but we've had that.
Oh I agree. It caused my anemometer to ice over earlier this month and I had to climb up on a ladder and pour tap water to thaw it out.

Yeah it's probably a sleet storm here but there's just something about this setup I've never been hyped up by like the snowstorm up here a few weeks ago when I literally couldn't get away from it for days

. Generally ice is just not fun
I will say its been a long time since I've seen a sleet storm so there's that but yeah otherwise I'm not overly excited about this

What's so special about McKinney and NE of there? Just like the earlier month storm Fox 4 gave them a bullseye for higher ice accumulations this time too just now on the news.

Lots of time for everything to get good and cold, whenever the precip starts I don’t think it’s gonna have any problem sticking.

Thunder and lightning convection in cold air between San Angelo and Brownwood. Quite dynamic.

NAM and WRF have main freezing rain area between DFW and Tyler. Most other models target north of DFW. The former models seem to show the freezing rain freezing into sleet earlier, at least this is how Pivotal is depicting precip types. It is a very interesting scenario as clouds will be near 50F and surface will be mid 20s over DFW for this event. Key for sleet is how cold does the low levels need to be to freeze the drops. I suspect there will be less sleet than Pivotal is showing but I really do not know.

If you read the forecast discussion from this morning they mention this as a possibility then pull the trigger shortly after.
I'm thinking no work maybe today, for sure tomorrow.
Hearing some ice hitting my windows now.
