Re: Texas Winter 2021-2022
Temp is now dpwn to 25.9, it's been slowly dropping as of about an hour ago.
I can hear the precip on my windows. It's coming down a pretty good clip.
The wind has picked up too.

27F in McKinney. Thunder approaching. Somewhat late to close the schools, but if these cells are all the precipitation for today, they could probably have school. Buses kept outside might need need some de-icing.

There’s a cell northwest of Abilene showing 66dbz on radar. Crazy for subfreezing temps

Driving up to Quitman today for a clinic. 36° here in Tyler. 33° in Quitman, Looks like most of the radar returns are North of I30. Driving to another clinic in Gun Barrel City tomorrow. Forecast doesn't look great there either. Drive safe out there!

Been hearing pretty heavy stuff. But, nobody canceled school. Ugh.
It’s odd they upgraded to a warning despite still downplaying impacts & accumulations.

I expect FTW to add Henderson and Van Zandt counties to the advisory and SHV may need to add Smith.

27.2 at the High 5 in Dallas. Temp is 3 degrees colder than predicated for this time yesterday. Any precip that falls would accrete at this temp. Now we just wait for the radar to light up...or not.

Down to 54F in SW Houston. GFS & Euro busted, as expected. Front ignored both of their "STOP" signs north of Houston. Enjoying the last ice storm of this season up there in Dallas & Oklahoma? Good chance it's the last freeze event in D-FW for the season. Ah, on to summer!

Sir, where have I heard this before? Oh yes, now I remember!

“Okay, you snow-loving cold mongerers, I'm back! Your winter is most likely over. Better start looking out for tornadoes instead of snow next week in Tulsa, Brent. Same for all of you in NE Texas. Could be a big severe weather outbreak. The only good thing is that the event will occur between sunrise and noon, too early for any help from daytime heating. Areas farther east and southeast won't be as lucky.”
