It doesn't make any sense for someone running for President not to choose someone they are friends with.

The President and Vice President aren't supposed to be together. The Speaker of the House would become President of the United States if the President and Vice President die in office.

I was born in '85, but we talked about it last yr in my US history class...I think it was a conspiracy, Oswald knew it, and Oswald got what was coming to him, he'd have been executed 1 way or another...

The Russian/Cuban connection is the most likely source for the conspiracy but I wouldn't rule out J.Edgar Hoover either. One likely explanation for the hush up could be that an admission that JFK was assasinated with Russian collusion would have required a war in response. With the Cuban Missile crisis and the Bay of Pigs events still fresh in everyone's minds it may have just been the lessor of two evils....
