The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Northeastern Johnson County in north central Texas...
Northwestern Ellis County in north central Texas...

* Until 1115 PM CDT.

* At 1050 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located over Cross Timber, or over Joshua, moving east
at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
Alvarado around 1105 PM CDT.
Venus around 1115 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Briaroaks.

This includes Interstate 35W between mile markers 19 and 37.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile
home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and
protect yourself from flying debris.

Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night. Do not
wait to see or hear the tornado. TAKE COVER NOW!

CC drop just south of Cross Timber. Likely tornado on the ground

EDIT: Both circulations have CC drops now, likely 2 tornadoes on the ground

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM CDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN JOHNSON AND NORTHWESTERN ELLIS COUNTIES...

At 1055 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located near Alvarado, moving
east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.

This tornado will be near...
Alvarado around 1100 PM CDT.
Venus around 1110 PM CDT.
Maypearl around 1115 PM CDT.

Had a feeling that might happen when the 2nd line caught up to the first line, and was worried it might happen in the metro. Fortunately the second line didn’t catch the first one in time up here. Hope everyone is ok down south of here

Yeah that's a nasty embedded supercell. Hopefully it doesn't try to drop anything strong but the healthy meso and current confirmed tornado worries me.

That's a very intense bowed area of the storm as well. Very sharp edges. From nothing to blinding rain and likely screaming wind.

@DFWscanner — Accident w/ Entrapment (Johnson County) Briaroaks Engine 73 on scene of a reported vehicle blown over by a tornado at FM 917 and FM 731. Possible entrapment. Power lines also down in the area.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Dallas County in north central Texas...

* Until 245 AM CDT.

* At 1142 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across Dallas county. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Dallas, Garland, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Carrollton,
Richardson, Rowlett, Desoto, Grapevine, Cedar Hill, Wylie,
Coppell, Duncanville, Lancaster, Farmers Branch, Balch Springs,

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

Especially the northeastern area, 3-5"+ in far Northern Dallas county and Collin county.
