Bust city with the rain this morning. Some spotty showers in Collin county and that's it. Looks like it will be an eastern event yet again. Shocking.

It's forming to the east and south.

That'll be it. We start the heatwave tomorrow and it will stretch as far as the eye can see.

There is one lone ranger near Granbury heading up toward Tarrant, but no doubt it will fall apart. It would only be .05 of an inch anyway, so not worth much.

Man DFW just missed out on some pretty good rainfalls. Easily 2-3" and still training just south of Hillsboro to Corsicana.

Bigtime, we even had American Airlines call us yesterday asking us if we wanted to reschedule our flight out today due to the weather forecast. Woke up to 20% chance of showers - so glad we didnt take the airlines advise and lose a day of our vacation for nothin.

Cold front is trying! Some getting lucky. Front is moving through Tarrant and Denton counties.

The CPC is thinking that the Cockroach Death Ridge (Heat Dome) will get stuck in the Midwest and into the Great Lakes next week.

Core anomalies will be in the midwest. But that's how far they are from normal. The source of the heat is us. 500mb ridge center meanders the southern plains. So 80s is bad for them but for us 100.

It's kind of like winter in reverse. The Arctic and Canada is often the source, a little below normal there offers a lot below normal here. Well Southwest and Southern Plains is the heat pump.

Those areas actually needed the rain even more so than DFW.

SE Texas really needs the rain, especially right along the coast. Today, the drought monitor expanded extreme drought conditions in our area. Most of the region is in severe drought now.

The Serranias del Burro supercell last night put on an incredible show on the DFX radar. Unbelievable meso strength w/ confirmed golf ball sized hail. (maybe larger?)

Made it all the way to SA from well across the Rio Grande and brought some much needed rain to the US 90 corridor!
