THE UN TO CONTROL THE INTERNET? lets hope not!!
United Nations To Control The Internet?
LETS ALL HOPE NOT!!
TURNING THE INTERNET OVER TO THE UNITED NATIONS?
Wow! This one popped up out of nowhere. I had no idea that there was a movement to turn the management of the Internet over to the UN. It seems that "developing countries" like Brazil, India, South Africa, China, Saudi Arabia and others want the Internet to be managed by national governments with international control ... United Nations control.
There is going to be a world information summit in Geneva next month. These countries were going to try to make the Internet management change at that time, but those plans have been shelved ... temporarily. As some say, however, it's now on the agenda.
Here's how this is going to come down. The countries that want the Internet managed by the UN are going to plead unfairness in the assignment of Internet names. That will be the cover under which UN control is sought. Once these national governments and the UN get their clutches on this wonderful information system can censorship be far behind?
We'll keep an eye on this one. You should too.

Thats okay...the UN is decentralized and with there indecisiveness, it will take years for undeveloped countries to get access. They can start the broadband for food program and put France in charge of it.
