It has the convection and the winds to be named, but we do not know if it has a closed circulation. ASCAT would need to show a closed circulation for this to be nameable.

Definitely appears to have worked down to the surface but will be out of time real soon. This will go down as one of those cases of 'lucky this didn't have another day or 2 over water'

Just happened to look at the radar and saw the suspicious swirly. Came over and yup it’s an invest. My parents, sister, and her family are in Pensacola for a couple of days so I let them know they were intercepting the 10% swirl. lol

I have seen the NHC name storms on land (e.g. Julia (2016) and Claudette (2021)). The NHC might decide to do something similar with Invest 90L.
