Re: Texas Spring 2022
It’s still not 4-6 inches. Lol.
But, some lighter stuff behind. I think I can get to 2, which will be enough to be a big event.
I am in a lull at 1.21 now.

Take it. Gather as much as you can. Put it in bins, buckets , and pans. What you get will have to last for the next 10 days. CIPs analogs suggest dry stretch near term. The cool air with this rain is a bonus.

With the heaviest line passed, somewhere around 0.66" for DFW airport, this includes the storms ahead of the line prior.

That’s pretty heavy but nothing that crazy. I once got an inch in 10 minutes.

Looks like we’re about to see an outflow boundary collision near Austin. Will be interesting to see what comes from it

Another night with a huge storm in south Texas. Laredo is about to take one on the chin. That’s some incredible rain rates coming down in that storm. I’ve always been interested in how deep South Texas often produces the heaviest rains in Texas.

Yea this system really busted low. Looks like an inch at most for Austin. Super narrow bow and then mainly light to moderate rain.
That said. Severe warned now. 60+ winds

Storm motion is too fast. Up here we got good rates and was exciting but for about 30 minutes. Light rain since, speed has kept totals down for us.

I'm not sure i would agree with that, to me SE Texas is the king when it comes to rainfall rates in the state.(In the summer time its not uncommon to get rainfall rates of 2-4 inches an hour just in our normal seabreeze/summer pop up storms.)You have to also keep in mind alot of that down there is the radar picking up the hail core.Large hail is pretty common down there this time of year.

Well you consistently see dark reds and purples on the radar down there. I know that’s hail driven but it still leads me to believe the rain is crazy heavy. I mean I was down there for work yesterday so I experienced that storm last night and it was definitely impressive. Woke up this morning to several streets flooded.

Strong winds and heavy rain here. Large Cedar Elm branch just broke and fell in the backyard!

Re: Texas Spring 2022
Officially got 3.53" of rain with this system. Generally 4-7" in south-central Kansas. WPC is giving us another inch tomorrow and CAMS have another 2-4". As of this afternoon's climate report we're at 7.64" for the month and over 9" since March 1st. It's been a wet spring in Wichita proper, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case everywhere. South-central Kansas has kind of been the jackpot, rain hasn't been as widespread (excluding this event) for Kansas as it has been for Oklahoma.

I’ve gotten 2.7 inches of rain so far. I’m on the backside of the storm system and temperatures has fallen into the low 50s again.

Re: Texas Spring 2022
My premonition was right. After 0.65" Saturday night, I only ended up with 0.75" between yesterday afternoon and last night. Huge bust for this area. The southern MCS early on killed us.
But at least we got something. The next couple of days will be nice, but it's going to turn hot again by the weekend. And stays dry. The GFS is pretty bleak - around an inch or less for most of the state for the next 16 days.

Re: Texas Spring 2022
We received 0.71” here. A bit lower than the WPC etc. were forecasting but I’ll gladly take it.
Looks like the actual front is crossing Montgomery County now. Onto the next….
The chance of rain for next week is gone from TWC app.

I didn't quite make it to 2, but it was at least close and frankly, good enough for now and nice to see. We usually have missed out of these events in north Tarrant along 35. It often blows up just barely east.

We got 1.25" last night! Most in a while!
:

A lot of wind too! 4" tree limb down. So it came with a price. I just cleaned it up though
