Do you eat SPICY foods?

#1 Postby azsnowman » Wed Nov 12, 2003 6:29 pm

How SPICY do you like your food? Me.....the HOTTER the better! We buy a gallon size of diced Jalapenos a month, seriously, I "LOVE" jalapenos on EVERYTHING from my eggs in the morning to my bologna sandwiches at lunch and at supper. Being raised in the southwest, we do a LOT and I do mean a LOT of mexican, New Mexico cooking and "SPICY!"

Of course, there's the little matter of the next morning, when you yell, "COME ON ICE CREAM!"

Hmm, spicy food. Well, let's just say what most people consider hot doesn't even qualify as mild for me. I like making my own hot sauces and eating peppers raw because I can't find anything that I like on the market.

I like peppers too. But I like curry too. Chicken, rice, tons of black pepper and tons of curry powder. Yummy.

I think that spicy foods release chemicals in your brain that make you feel good.

Pizza, spaghetti, lasagna, tacos, burritos every now and then...but not on a daily basis. I can only eat these foods at lunch. :) With my hiatal hernia...if I were to eat any of these for supper...well time to break out the Axid (sp?) and/or Alkamints...otherwise forget the nighttime ZZZs!

Love Oriental spicy, Mexican spicy, Indian spicy, and good ole American spicy, as in barbecue!

I like Mexican, Korean (I can thank my Korean aunt for that) and any other spicy hot food. I can fix a pot of Mexican chicken and rice that will bring tears to your eyes and sweat running off your head.
My daughter can't stand spicy stuff, she says its too spicy or too hot. Even the mildest salsa is too hot and spicy for her. What a wimp she is!

I like spicy, but not to the point where that's all I taste is the spice. Jalapenos - forget it! I'd be done with my meal right then and there! Besides, my stomach wouldn't take too kindly to that!

Isn't it strange how we seem to develop a taste for those wonderful hot peppers?? I started out years ago having tears run down my cheeks from mild Poblano peppers.....now it almost seems like that "hotness" becomes a craving! I don't eat as many as you Dennis, but I do love 'em!

That capsicum in those hot peppers is very good for you too! (also speeds up your metabolism!).....p
