How many named storms will form in September?
Ok peeps, here is the September poll that I predict will be very interesting especially as August has not have named storms so far. The poll will close for voting on August 31 at 6:22 PM EDT. Anyone who may want to comment about this poll and September go ahead.

Re: How many named storms will form in September?
No more generous estimates. I’m going with just 3 storms. Everything we’ve seen over the last month has shown that many favorable indicators turned out to be wrong, probably due to the triple-dip Nina or some other factor we just don’t know about yet. With that said, my vote will probably be too conservative even with a near to below-average season.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I'm preparing my popcorns to watch how many people will pick "none will form".

It’s still just a tad to early to see how peak season will perform, but I went with 4 storms since I think this year will be closer to average rather than the gangbusters season we were promised.

I'm not a meteorologist, but I did stay at a motel 8.
Re: How many named storms will form in September?
I voted for 1. I based my choice on the current slower season thus far. If there is only 1 named storm, that will for sure be another good discussion topic.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say "more than in August". (Voted 5 in the poll)

Went with 6 , expect 4 of them to be hurricanes
Not giving in , still think it is going to be a fairly active season

Went with 3 thanks to unfavorable MJO and high-latitude, broad waves. I do expect one of those to be a major hurricane however.

Not sure how realistic it is, but I'm stubborn so I'm going with 7 or more. Basically a 2010-esque flip switch where we only got to 3 NS by August 20, but still ended up in (hyper)active territory due to a very busy September (8 NS) and October (5 NS).

This is exactly what I was about to post so I'm claiming partial credit.
