Re: WPAC: INVEST 90W
Just one run for now, but 0z euro deterministic has greatly increased intensity expectations for 90w and takes it in an WSW direction. This particular run suggests 90w could affect or even supplant the development of the future East China Sea typhoon.

Models failed to capture today's rapid development, however, and that may have significant implications on the future track.

Re: WPAC: HINNAMNOR - Tropical Storm
ASCAT has a 50 kt barb and can't even resolve the core. This is likely nearly a typhoon, factoring in undersampling. Not sure why JTWC are hugging dvorak when a reliable scatterometer suggests higher.

For some of the names replaced in 2018:
Nyatoh (origins from Malaysia, a tree that grows in tropical rainforests in Southeast Asia)
Trases (origins from Cambodia, a white-fronted woodpecker)
Mulan (origins from China, a magnolia flower native to China)
Hinnamnor (origins from Laos, a national protected park called Hin Nam No)
