It's crazy seeing how far Fiona's outflow extends. You see them expanding even out to 45 degrees West!

Apparently, an NOAA Saildrone managed to get the pressure down to 986 MB, which is why it's the measured pressure per latest NHC advisory.

Looks like Fiona’s core is a little ragged and shallow after briefly running over Puerto Rico.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Bermuda needs to prepare if this storm is going to recurve towards them.

Looks like those 20-24” precipitation plots on the GFS and Euro will unfortunately end up verifying

Fiona is still chugging west with no sign that it’s going to resume its NW motion. We might have a landfall in the DR soon.
AF306 has been sitting at the pad with no update in almost half an hour.

To her credit, Fiona's quite a large hurricane for sure!

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Looks like a mesovortex in the eyewall is tugging it west. Same process that tugged it north last night.

At this point, I don’t see a way for Fiona to avoid the Dominican. It would need to go NNW starting now.

The story is sure to become the flooding ongoing in Puerto Rico. This could be their 2nd costliest hurricane on record. And I agree, there will probably be a DR landfall.

Getting reports that the Puerto Rico hospital generators are having problems. Only one hospital has working generators.
