Was able to speak to my dad, last night and again this morning. He is 86 yrs old and lives alone. He is doing ok, no power. He had to knock a hole in his fence last night with a sledge hammer to get water out of his yard. He said it went down a foot almost right away. He did get water in his house in the middle of the night, but he says it is gone now. Luckily where he lives in Coqui, his house sits a bit high. His area received about 20-22 inches of rain in about 14 hours. He said this was so much worse than Hurricane Maria water wise. He said National Guard and the police have been down his road looking for anyone who needs to get out. He said he is staying put. Most of my family around the island has been able to check in, they are ok. None of them have power, some have water. So crazy!! My dad sent me a video from the front of his house, the road looks like a river. Prayers for PR!

I'm glad he's doing alright.

Thanks Sweetpea. Prayers for all of PR. Another devastating hurricane for PR. I don't know how much more their infrastructure can tolerate.

Hopefully alright. One of my online friends who lives in San Juan is already posting again, so I take that as a good sign for at least some people in Puerto Rico.

Do not take anything I say seriously as a form of meteorological prediction. I am not a meteorologist; I don't think being in law school translates to any special knowledge. I am just a somewhat bullish amateur watcher.

Fiona appears to be wasting no time after moving offshore. Unless something crazy happens, I suspect Fiona’s peak well end up closer to the most aggressive intensity forecasts.

Impressive satellite presentation....next up Turks and Caicos then Bermuda. Might be quite the beast as the hurricane nears Bermuda......MGC

One mean-looking buzzsaw. Zero doubt we get our first major.

He told us he should be ok, but would be offline for a few days. IIRC he lives in a high rise in San Juan so hopefully isn't having to deal with flooding. With Fiona pulling away and we are hearing of others posting from San Juan hopefully we will hear from him soon.

He's definitely fine, all of my friends in SJ basically said it was a non-event there for the most part, just a lot of rain over there but winds were never real high.

It's a much different story in the interior of the island where it's a fight for your life over there.
