Model run continuity has been interesting to watch.
Regardless and for now at least..... 98L remains a ModelCane.

The ridge looks much more stout than on previous runs. It extends all the way into Georgia.

GFS 7 run trend valid 18z 9/29. Scary look for the northern GOM.

GFS looks identical to the 18Z through about 130 hours (maybe a hair slower/farther east) but much stronger. Looks like it's still trending west after that point so far.

Way too close for comfort here in Houston. I hate runs like this where it reaches the central GOM and everyone is waiting and watching to see when it makes a turn.

Re: ATL: INVEST 98L - Models
The GFS really likes to slow it way down once it gets into the gulf.

Really hoping these eastward shifts stop. Louisiana's had enough of these storms.

This would be what, like the 5th major hurricane to approach LA in two years? Laura, Delta, Zeta, Ida, and this?

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

GFS looks like it wants to pull an Ida again, right off the coast of Terrebonne Parish.

I was afraid the westward trend would continue. There
is still a lot of time for this to change of course.

At this rate the GFS is going to have 98L hitting Brownsville by the 0z run tommorow night. Right now it is the western outlier but I do find it odd that the usual east bias from the GFS isn't appearing.
