Sustained TS winds are still ways away from the South Florida. Windfield should continue to expand once IRC is done.

At this point Ian will have to head at almost due north to directly hit Tampa Bay.

any chance shear is taking effect on it and that is why the storm look stronger on its southern half?

Wow that's going to be one heck of a massive eye once the ERC is done. Not good news though since the wind field should continue to expand.

Only getting one recon pass between 2 planes is a massive L though

Looks like Tampa ducks another hit. Weather will be rough but the “shield” appears to have done the trick.
