For South Florida, it’s been one after the other. Definitely reminds me of Ivan too in that regard.

Category5Kaiju wrote:What is the general consensus for the time tomorrow that Ian will make landfall? Thanks

The NHC has Ian very close to the western Florida peninsula at about 2 PM Wednesday as a major hurricane, with it then becoming a non-major hurricane sometime after landfall in the peninsula at 2 AM Thursday.

If I had to guess a rough estimate, landfall might be between 4:00 PM and 12:00 PM EST depending on how fast Ian is at that time and where/how exactly it tracks.

E. coast Central Florida here. Seeing all the tornados so far in South Florida is concerning. Especially since Ian is projected to crossing right above us after possibly rapid intensifying before w. coast landfall. Ppl think im delusional for saying the weather is gonna get a bit nasty here. Radar velocities coming up pretty rapidly throughout the outer eyewall. >130mph in both N and S quads (7k ft up). Lets see what Recon finds, the plane is now in the storm.

It looks like they might be heading away from the storm actually. Maybe there was some sort of issue with the plane and they're just going for a quick test flight but I'm not sure honestly. It does look like they're transmitting data though, at least so far.

Where our Sunday afternoon was one Tornado Warning after another.
We just had the Tornado Warning cell pass through here.
No tornado, just nonstop lightning and a burst of rain.

Really bad timing for the EWRC to be almost complete before landfall in SW FL.

Rain just picked up here so I imagine those lines with the tornadoes are now heading this way.
