My imagination, or is there a little bit more of a northward component on the last few frames on radar?

Rivard Rd, Naples - 3 person on roof, 2 are special needs
1.5 miles inland, but within a half mile of canals.

Yes, towards Orlando. Also including Walt Disney and Universal, it's a beautiful place. I was there just 5 months ago!

Ooof... Englewood, North Point, and Venice are just getting slammed and don't look like they will be lucky enough to catch the eye.
ABC 7 out of Sarasota is reporting close to 16 inches of rain between Venice and Englewood. The only benefit is that area of the Suncoast is less populated than areas to the north and south. :EDIT: NBC-2 is back out of Ft. Myers/Naples if you want to follow the conditions in that area.

The shot from the firehouse is gut wrenching. Makes me think of the Breezy Point FDNY house that had to watch their neighborhood simultaneously flood and burn during Sandy and they were stuck.

Re: ATL: IAN - Hurricane - Discussion
Some of the strongest winds appear to be on the back side with this system, seeing gusts to near 130 sustained at over 100 near Cape Coral. Based on the convective pattern and previous RECON the NW side is probably even worse (although the system itself it weakening obviously).

DeSoto County here e getting ripped to shreds.
My phone is telling me 104 mph sustained. Reports from friends of lanai roofs off and at least one roof ripped off a house in our park.
It’s coming up the Peace River like Charley. Only good news appears to be that the slightly more northerly tracks means we won’t get the west side eye wall (we were just experiencing the north and the. East sides). They were bad enough, thank you very much.
