Looks like the freeze warning should have been expanded by a county or more across East Texas and into SE Texas. Temps generally in 28 to 32 range across East Texas. It will be close if Tyler officially hits freezing at the airport. It will be close.

Meanwhile the UHI is alive and well in Dallas. DFW bottomed out at 42 (so far), but quite a few areas in adjacent counties were 30-33.

I’m at 40 in uptown.

Gfs is surprisingly inconsistent with the 500mb pattern for next week’s system. Can’t seem to decide if the trough digging down the western us will connect with baja cutoff low. If they don’t link up, the trough swings through faster and we get hardly any rainfall

Way too cold for me in SW Houston (upper 40s). Have my desktop heater going, trying to warm my hands. Temperature in my office is down to a frigid 72 degrees! Bring back summer!

Got down to 34 IMBY. Wow. Much less than I expected for the first freeze threat...it usually underperforms, but we were close here in north Tarrant.

Ahh thanks :). It has been a bit rough without the Euro. But just looking at the CFS/CanSIPs and GFS ensembles you can kind of see what it could be.

November looks like North America may get cold in the high latitudes. Curious if that will spill south early -EPO should be favored this year. I'm still expecting a hard flip soon.

There is good Siberian snowpack, but some years that doesn't seem to matter much. All depends on if it can spill south.

Hey Ntxw, it looks like BenNollWeather has taken note on what you noticed recently in the Northern Pacific.

Well this was a nice teaser at least. It wasn't hot for a couple days!

Discouraging but not surprising drier trend for next week

What's up my weather peeps? Been a while but then again this 2022 year has for the most part been pretty much rinse and repeat with the hot and dry weather.

Fall? What Fall outside of this brief cool down (which felt awesome) I just don't see anything that would be major in a pattern flip till mid-late November, and even then that's no certain bet.

Right this triple dip Nina has some promising potential, but without the positive background state it looks to be really no better than the last 2 winters, with only 1 maybe 2 real winter like cold snaps.

I'm just hoping for a super wet spring, we are in desperate need in many of our NTX lakes and watersheds.

This is the way!
