A lot of heavy rain at the airport with lots of thunder and lightning. Nothing ominous on velocity yet.

Same cell that passed over me, dumping several inches of rain as it moved through, and yes lot of thunder in this one. Heaviest rain I've seen in a long time.

Severe warn extended to Dallas and Collin County on the Tarrant storm.

It's just a silly question, but is the emergency backup phone a Nokia?

Samsung cheap-o replacement from the AT&T store a few years ago.

Yes, this one is starting to look ominous as well.

DFW airport and then Collin County need to watch that. It will hook right at some point here soon.

Looks like it's trying to develop a bit of aa hook, so wouldn't be surprised to see a Tornado with this one before long.

It's really starting to take a right turn but will soon merge with the cells over East Dallas

Special 18z Sounding over DFW

The extremely low LCL means that the storm base mode is very low, any storm that can become Supercellular can produce a tornado that can become extremely powerful extremely quickly.

Anything west of DFW we need to be concerned with? Or just due south?

Yup, my wife just drove by there. Said there were power poles affected too and one building appeared to be destroyed.

Pretty intense here at the house too, about 10 miles south of that spot in Bryan County. Lightning was terrible and it hailed some…

That cell looks kind of messy and choked off a bit. The cell southeast of Hillsboro moving into the higher risk areas looks potent, not warned but velocity is tightening up.
