The latest SFMR reading was 84 kt, but I would put zero weight on the SFMR due to the proximity to the Bahamas.

Has anybody seen the NHC do this before?

Weak 1 lol I get it but when you see 65 mph winds show up on velocity and have it come over and the tress don’t budge that’s what call garbage. I would have felt it by now if there was any sustain TS winds surely
It is almost dead calm out there right now here in coastal Boca Raton, with a 20mph gust here and there.
Its become very quiet here, was breezy earlier.

That actually lines up perfectly with the model data.
Look at the 850mb (approximately radar height) plots showing 50+kt winds, with surface plots showing 10kts.

Back when Hendrix was writing "The wind cried Mary" I heard some strange interpretations from some of the stoners but NHC? 43 knot wind cone for power outages might be more useful though..

I get it friction also but there should be some wind for crying out loud after being in a TS and hurricane warning. These bands are even more uglier then the satellite appearance.

Re: ATL: NICOLE - Hurricane - Discussion
I could be very wrong but watching the loop the southern side has wrapped around some convection and the center is less firm.

It did just enough to get the upgrade and then took a step back. A very strange way to close the season.

Not sure what school their Met's went to, but lets say one are more went to FSU, they could be using their model claiming it as "in house"
For WFTV the “In House” model is from IBM. It was mentioned during Ian but that was all the detail given.
A quick Google says IBM has the GRAF model. “Global High Resolution Atmospheric Forecasting System”

WFTV just mention their “other in house model” from Baron

I hope you’re right but we’ve been pretty close a few times this evening already. My local forecast is showing sustained TS winds from about 10pm to 1am with gusts around 60.

You think there will be revisións in the post season report?

The quiet before the storm if the inner band making a beeline for us is any indication.
