Y'all are doing a great job here! Tons of good info. Keep pressing wxman57. He and his wall will collapse soon enough.

You know if our long range guy is believing this, I think some colder air is coming! Might want to get Wxman 57 some huge Kerosine Heaters. :)

Is it time to get snow tires put on Champ the Charger?

I'm visiting Singapore in February. I'll be flying out of DFW, so I ask for some quiet weather until I leave. If it gets as cold as I think it will, the trip will be much needed.

Watching this come together is incredible. Exactly on time with what was thought a month ago but this looks far more extreme than we could have imagined back then.
I havent delved deep into the forecast yet, first trying to write some scripts and a database to store all of this data. I want to archive as much of this as possible.

24 members and 122 guests on at 2:30 PM on a Monday afternoon in the middle of December is something else. I wouldn't be surprised if this event is something possibly historic

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Laying down some good snow cover coming days to limit that modification. So important to get it in the western Plains for us.

Pretty crazy seeing the ensemble mean on all three models with a snow signal even to the Gulf :double:

The potential on this pattern is insane

Yes it would here in East Tx and South Louisiana. Not liking this at all. Last time we had snow a few years back we were in rolling black outs. Ugh!!

My dad used to tell me stories about when he lived in Houston during the 1989 Freeze. And about how he had to drive to Rosharon for work but couldn’t make it because his coolant lines in his truck froze. This looks like his stories plus 2021.

Is there someone who can post snow/sleet accumulation map. I know it is over 10 days out but just curious with current modeling what it is showing.

It changes so much from model to model and run to run which you are aware, but the most dramatic (and thus less likely) was posted by none other than Wxman57 himself on page 47.

Monster cold. And that’s with a Euro that overall struggles with cold air masses.

This is what I was referencing earlier... It's more east based but you get the idea. Just crazy to see a signal over the Gulf. This is also the average of the ensembles so some have more for sure. You just don't see this very often

You can click this direct link and should be able to see his insanity map from the 12z: http://wxman57.com/images/12ZGFSSNow.JPG
The 18z is running now so probably will show nothing

The storm coming through the four corners here now should do just that. Blizzard warnings in place east of Denver, and around a foot of snow expected in Neb and the northern plains.
