Very dense fog here in Weatherford, Tx. Have a feeling that might become a problem when the temps fall out.

Was not expecting to be under the WWA.

Judging by what little I can see on radar, looks like the front is about to pass Decatur

Bad news. The front has broken through my secondary wall along the Red River. Wichita Falls temperature is down to 16. I saw wind gusts to 45 kts an hour ago. Temperature in Amarillo is -1F. Have to add 20 degrees to take that to sea level (Houston) and you get 19F for temps here tomorrow morning (assuming no airmass modification). The end is near...

I cancelled my day off Friday to help with all the conference calls and the 3 active TCs worldwide. Will take next Friday off with temps in the 70s.

Casper, Wyoming, recorded their all time lowest temperature with this event of -42. I suppose that is unimpressive and occurs regularly up there. But who knows, right? :cold:

Fortunately, I do not live in the High Plains of Wyoming. Elevation in Casper is 5118 ft. However, unlike most (all) of you, I have experienced a temperature of -42F once before. I was in Winter Park, CO on a ski trip during the 1989 Arctic outbreak in January. Was delayed flying up there by an ice storm in Houston. First morning, I woke up and the temperature was -42F. I quickly dressed to see what it felt like. Felt like about 35 degrees here. The air was incredibly dry. I tried to make a snowball but my two handfulls of snow made a ball about the size of a pea. Very good skiing, though. No one on the slopes. No wind, not a cloud in the sky. Sat outside at the "Snowasis" restaurant mid-mountain for lunch. Unzipped our coats and ate burgers. Was a sweltering -5F by then. Didn't need any ice in our drinks.
