Obs.

Denton: 27F
FW Alliance: 28F
DFW Airport: 45F
Dallas Love: 43F

Blew through my neighborhood in North Dallas at 8:32. Temp at that time was 45.7. Will be fun to see how quickly it drops. I feel bad for the neighborhood yard crews trying to blow and mulch leaves right now. They're fighting an uphill battle!

DFW is at 30 from 45 since the frontal passage 30 mins or so ago.

My plan to beat the cold front this morning while exercising in Keller was a success…kind of. Front came through during last 20 mini but I was prepared. Awesome to see the weather go from 44 with no wind to 27 with 35 mph wind in 20 minutes. Cool to be outside when front arrived! :cold:

HRRR seems to have the best grasp at the moment with temperatures around the region. GFS and Euro OP are too warm. They are saying temps that are being witnessed NOW won't happen until later.

I don't even bother looking at Euro temps anymore in cold blasts, total garbage . It's only worth checking for 5h verification, that's how bad it has gotten.

The Euro and the GFS were both absolutely horrible with this storm up here. I mean who can forget all the GFS runs burying us :spam: I mean yeah it's a nice little storm but the GFS had much better runs

Anyway I'm down to 9 degrees :froze:

Surprisingly even the NAM has been to slow with the front...for winter temps down here NAM and HRRR are Kings. EURO and GFS are useless

Radar appears to show strengthening on graupel on west side of Fort Worth and Parker county. Surprise or just heavy flurries?

Never mind, just saw nws tweet about light to moderate dry snow falling.

Already down to 13 degrees here in Sunset. Wind is howling with blowing light snow still. Yes, we do get these type of temperatures regularly during the winter but I can't recall many years where we get the drastic temperature drops down into the lower teens so quickly with such powerful wind. Especially in December... Although it is not going to last long and a warm up is on the horizon, I hope we have a few more shots of some cold air this winter. Merry Christmas, all.

Snowing at my place in Brock. Had to drive to Wichita Falls for work it snowed the whole time sometimes white out conditions. With the humidity levels it makes sense.

Many sites to the west have snow observations. The band is coming into FW's radar and is likely the stuff that has been falling between WF to Abilene. Doesn't show up well on your typical view but it's so cold it's there.

I thought this may be the case looking at sounding yesterday. Even HRRR is not picking any of the precip up. WWA are out for all of the OK side of the Red River. I wouldn't be surprised if those expand south some.

Just took the dog out for a walk just half a block. BRRR.

Down to 21. Dropped 20 degrees in an hour.

Also, seeing some very light flurry/snow grains.

Abilene had enough to stick on the ground per video I just saw. That was a surprise.
