A chilly 60 degrees here in Houston. Perhaps the cold won't reach me...

I9F with 2WC @ DFW

Going to be close...would be something to get to single digits this far south with 10-15 mph winds all night. Usually need fresh snow cover with calm/radiational cooling to get it this low!

Anyone know the lowest DFW temp with no snow cover ??

My guess would be the -1 reading from December 1989. I do not recall any snow or ice with that outbreak but I could be wrong. Just strong radiational cooling with no wind.

1989 holds all of those with no snow on the ground.

1930 was -1F and 1905 was 1F both a trace. All had clear skies.

Jan 1912 had 1F cloudy.

Lowest we could possibly see with these conditions is 9F but yes realistically getting any lower than say 13-14F will be a challenge.

But again we wasn't supposed to see temps this cold till 5pm or after, so we are definitely colder earlier, and seeing more snow than just flurries :ggreen:

Never seen it that high. Must be a cyclone near Darwin.

Light snow, a film of accumulated wind driven snow in places, a windchill below zero, and an air temp of 14 degrees here in Denison at high noon.

All of that before Christmas and with no snow on the ground.

Sure glad this cold front isn’t overly dramatic… :D :cold:

Looks like Cosgrove is dead set on a return to colder weather later in January. With how negative the EPO has gotten in November and again this month, we might be in for something big later this winter. This might be just the tip of the iceberg.

Front blew threw here at 12:25 pm when the temp was 47F. Almost 40 minutes later it's 32F. Hoping for some flizzard action in ETX this afternoon!
