Don't think it will be a mix of sleet or ice. You either get the heavy wet snow or the rain, tons of dynamics.

From history you want to be close and/or just to the north of the vortmax. These broad qpf maps outside of Hi Res range tend to condense in real time. It's not just the south trends, also more realistic depictions of the qpf bands.

Not only that the GFS is caving in the medium range. Better ridge into Alaska hooking up with the Arctic. It's also sending down a western trough vs holding ridge in prior runs.

Is it just me or has TT gone wonky? I can only pull up 48 hours on the snowmaps. Can you see snow amounts on Pivotal? TT is my usual go to.

Hi-Res models are basically in frame and they’re of course cooler than globals. Hopefully trends better.

Snow in Texas, 8th wonder of the World

Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a licensed meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?

All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

It’s rotating around the TPV. Should be through the Rockies and into the plains and S to SSE from there.

Towards the end yeah, but it was a major shift this run that was very different from its prior runs. It's been lagging the other models. It decided to put ridges where it had troughs and troughs where it had ridges, mind boggling.

-EPO going bonkers on the 0z Euro. Cold gets held up from advancing south by the SE ridge. Yeah, we’ll see about that.
