18z GFS is one front after another. -EPO goes nutty with North American cold. If they are vastly underestimating the cold, it could lead to a long duration freeze for some in a step down series of Arctic fronts.

Largely dry on this run.

Transition to snow should be happening in Wise and Denton counties. Pretty close far NW Tarrant county. 850s are cooling faster now with ULL coming in.

NBC 5 just showed some footage of Bowie. It's coming down pretty good there.

Enjoy it man. Unfortunately as always too warm and I get a rain/sleet mix. I have a good feeling about February though

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Down to 39 again but looks like precip will end here before a full transition. Enjoy it Denton/Collin.

Here’s an update from Jeff on the southeast Harris County tornado.

SE Harris County Tornado Update:
A significant long tracked tornado has impacted portions of SE Harris County. Doppler radar track velocity rotation indicates a possible track of some 30 miles from NE of Pearland to Baytown with heavy impacts in the cities of Pasadena and Deer Park and Baytown. Significant damage has occurred to many structures, gas lines, and power distribution lines. A large emergency response is underway in these areas and will be for much of the evening. The first ever tornado emergency for Harris County was issued at 224pm for SE Harris County.

NWS damage assessment teams will deploy tomorrow to determine the length, track, size, and intensity of this tornado, any comments on intensity are premature at this time.

Forecast For Emergency Response (SE Harris County)

All rainfall has ended. NW/W winds overnight of 15-25mph with temperatures falling into the 40’s.

Sunny skies on Wednesday with NW/N winds 10-15mph and temperatures in the mid to upper 50’s.

Fair weather will be in place through Friday.

The CPC is really insistent on the cold air having a hard time making it into Texas next week. They have it mainly staying in the central/northern plains.

Yep! I'm glad that Late January had snow, I may have 4 months in a row with snow!
