Maybe we'll see a Feb 1989 redux. Of course mini version, I don't think a 1070mb+ high is coming yet. It holds the all time North American record, but didn't make it far south.

It was a rough day for SE Texas. I picked up 4.10” - off the top of my head, approximately the 6th or 7th biggest rain I’ve seen since moving here in 2005.

Indeed! Have seen some damage photos from Deer Park and Pasadena, including the animal shelter. :(

I hope there were no fatalities or serious injuries. Feeling sad tonight for y’all.

Well it's getting cold rapidly now. Down to 34. I think I am starting to see some flakes. So maybe more than I was thinking an hour ago.

They seem to be just using model output, really wish there would be some human input into those forecasts…9 of 10 times with a 500mb setup like this, arctic air is undercutting SW flow much further south. We see it almost every winter!

Looks like snow showing up on the TXDOT cameras at Hwy 114 and SH 26...just to the northwest of DFW Airport.

Well the rain never fully switched for me. Precipitation has moved out areas less than 5 miles from me got all snow lol.

I might get my one real shot at something in about 15 minutes as the last wave rotates in. I hate how so often this is the case...literally the last bit of precip is what finally mixes in or changes over.

Frustrating here because it’s pouring but maybe 1 in 20 are snowflakes or so melted it doesn’t matter.

So odd that it always seems that way. January has been a give up month for the most part in the recent past. Like Ford, Feb is the best in Texas.

Apparently DFW has not recorded one inch of snow in January since 1985. It's a typically dry mild month in between the typical early winter cold snap and the February winter storm

Now it’s snowing but, too warm too late. It’s ok. Moments like these get me through summer.

Well Ponder is a pretty decent clip NW of DFW so that’s honestly not a surprise.
