Is it drying up or about the same?

It definitely is wetter tomorrow than the NAM.

These impulses are coming out of a data poor region of Mexico, and it is common for them to overperform in these setups with WAA over a freezing surface layer.

Looks the same if not aggressive. I'm not concerned about moisture. That ULL is slowly pumping up tons of it. It will be days until it comes out and the upper divergence delivers plenty of activity. You don't get this much qpf this late in winter often. But can see how we might end up with more sleet than ZR, while freezing rain threats shifts further south.

I guess in DFW, it's time to really start pulling for the majority of this to be sleet...

More Ice for DFW too, at least 3/10 to 5/10th of an inch.

HRRR also keeps North Texas in the upper 20s all the way through Tuesday, something to watch. If that happens you know the western and northern burbs will be in the mid 20s.

HRRR extended run concerning for DFW. No doubt about it now. Surface temps per the model hovering around 26-28 during brunt of precip.

Factor in wind chills with ice sticking to power lines. Brutal run no question.

NAM isn't quite temperature numbers as HRRR but it's getting there compared to prior runs. Aside from the artificial core urban effects most should be 30 or less. Also the freezing line is further south and east in TX.

Yup..dipping that freezing line into Northern Bexar/SA as well. Might have to watch late Monday night into Tuesday morning across that area now. Lots of elevated bridges and overpasses.

I’m trying to keep up with the comments and graphics. Is it still looking like tomorrow will mostly be okay until late afternoon/evening in DFW? I realize some parts may be impacted more than others, so just the overall thought.

NAM definitely in a different camp both precip type and amounts for DFW so that in and of itself is going to be an interesting watch for tomorrow. Pushing freezing rain line much further south with more sleet for DFW points west.

Interesting on the end of the Nam that overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning it warms up and turns it just to cold rain. Lots of frozen precip before that however

00z HRRR would be a pretty big issue for DFW if this is all freezing rain. Temps are more borderline as you head down I35.
