My wife is on her way to work (she’s a paramedic) and said bridges are icing up in Ellis County as well. She’s seen several accidents already.

My weather station reads 32.0F currently. Was not expecting that.

Just made it into work in DTN FTW, I can report the bridges are very slick, and numinous accidents. Freezing drizzle is already falling.

Well I open my big mouth a few days back saying I'd be content never seeing winter precipitation again and it was like I was just daring the cold and moisture to come... :spam:

Didn't lose power in the 2021 winter storm being by a hospital, however that was mostly a snow event. With the kind of icing the NWS is forecasting, getting very concerned about a higher likelihood of losing power. Couldn't prepare quickly enough since my car is in the shop so making do with what we got.

Stay safe everyone.

27 in Canton with icy bridges on I-20.
I am taking long way to office as to avoid potential ice on toll loop around Tyler. It's 29 in Lindale.
Models busted along bias lines but also across board even from the coldest ones. Today will be a very messy day across the state with widespread freezing drizzle.

Yeah thanks a lot jdawg!

Disjointed takes:

* It’s already 33 here in my part of south Austin.
* Friend reported freezing drizzle in Georgetown a few minutes ago.
* Sounds like our Metroplexer friends have a skating rink already.
* I strongly dislike ice storms.

I'm teleworking this week, I had to come in to the office to get a few things. Told other coworkers don't expect office to be open this week.

On a different note frz precipitation amounts are going to be higher than forecast with the onset of freezing drizzle already happening.

What is the best radar out there for picking up on precipitation like mist/drizzle?

An hour north of you we’re still dry and at 29 degrees. BISD has been silent with cancellations so still class today for them. Hopefully nothing bad happens

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Local TV radar? I know that the NWS-DFW radar is picking it up too.

Thank you so I assume this freezing drizzle is probably going to be around awhile?

UNT is delaying opening until 10AM....

I'm thinking we might just close but I don't make those decisions. Above my pay grade.
