Freddy becomes the fifth tropical cyclone to reach 70 of ACE since the satellite era, behind only Ioke of 2006, John of 1994, Ivan of 2004, and Paka of 1997.

I think what was meant to be "Five nights at Freddy's" will end up becoming "More than Thirty nights at Freddy's" :P

It would be really cool if it moved into the south Atlantic and redeveloped into a powerful tropical cyclone. What would be even cooler is if it crossed it and made landfall in Brazil. :)

It is doubtful it could hit any country to the south of it without becoming extratropical because of cold water.

For some reason I don't think anyone's mentioned it here but Freddy's total ACE as of now is 70.71 units, meaning it is 2nd place in the satellite era (start 1966) ACE (although still far behind Ioke 2006's 85.265). Keep in mind the exactly number is extremely likely to change when the JTWC's best track comes out, however.

I personally like how 2nd-5th place is currently separated by <1 unit (Paka, 5th place, at 70.195); It really adds to the tension that any amount of reanalysis could shift the ranking.
