That one cell probably dumped some hail on 35. If storms hold together, then SA and Austin my cash in.

It seems like models back off the day of so we will see if they decide no storms for DFW.

Surprised to see coverage today closer to the ridge.

Someone needs to get the Ridge Manager on the phone and tell him this is no way to run a ridge!

cstrunk wrote:The lightning last night was wild. Lots of lightning and loud thunder for almost an hour before it arrived (around midnight). Then a constant CG barrage for an hour it seemed. One knocked out power to my neighborhood. Probably had 60 mph gusts. I don't know if my weather station will give me the rain total while power is out, but I easily had 2"+.

I'm out and about early this morning. Most places around here are still without power.

SWEPCO has almost 250,000 customers without power. They're saying we may not get power back until next FRIDAY...

Last night was truely historic for NE TX. 24 hours later still over 150k without power. Some counties still are near 100% out and it was much worse this morning. SWEPCo and URECC were hit hardest though surrounding CoOps have many outages also. Going to be days before some have power restored. That leading line last night produce winds over 80mph over a wide area with gusts likely over 100mph. The hail on the southern end was also significant with baseball size being common.

Now a Tor Warning. Those storms are just going to town sitting on that stationary boundary.

It’s been an amazing storm to watch on radar. Definitely one of the strongest storms I’ve seen repeatedly training over the same areas.

0z HRRR still firing storms in TX tomorrow, wouldn't be surprised to see the slight risk expanded south. I think NW/N OK could end up being the bullseye for the wind threat but we'll see

North TX upgraded to slight risk, enhanced remains over C and N OK. In the 30 hatched wind area here so this could get interesting

3k NAM looks pretty good for rain in DFW. HRRR wants to kill storms as they approach DFW but allow some to survive to the north between DFW and the Red River. It's probably right since it mostly misses DFW lol

There is some EPAC/subtropical linkage which I think will help the MCS feature survive the trek across I-20 thru NTX. Probably our best shot at rain. Dews are still very high.

You NTX folk better get some rain cuz y’all are about to join me in hell soon. I know it’s still been really hot and humid there but at least y’all have had some hope for rain.

Speaking of rain, I wonder how much the Junction area got last night.

Cells firing SW of DFW. The one difference from the other day is that there aren't a bunch of high clouds b/w those cells and DFW.
