Here is a map of the current dew points. The kind of low level moisture all the way up to semi-arid panhandle and Colorado is unusual, and likely some kind of connection with the growing El Nino. The dry feedback deathridge loops is when you have very arid and dry low level moisture, like the La Nina of last summer. If we had a large disturbance/shortwave we would ring out a lot of daily rainfall from this. Some of you may have noticed your vegetation is still relatively green, like in Florida, despite the hot weather.

1972 I've mentioned several times and does have an unusual cool snap in early July that year, we'll have to see if we can repeat it.

Rain storms intensifying to the northwest. HRRR seems to dissipate them rapidly though.

Terrible news about yet another fatal tornado.

And again this morning.

Also, the 12z HRRR straight into my veins! This is from an overnight MCS, so doesn't include any bonus rain from this mornings pop ups.

This is ridiculous. Once again they will get rain 2-3 miles east of me, and I get nothing. The storm looked good, was a decent line, and then my part collapsed.

Heck, they are getting it 2 miles west today. Lol.

Been there, done that, many times when really needing rain, my friend! It is frustrating.

In a severe warning for 80mph winds here but most of that looks to be north. Could still get nasty though

Right on cue, ENS and OPs are suggesting early July could feature a trof in the mid-southern section of the country (unusual for July.) This is consistent with some canonical July 4th cool period analogs.

1972 holds DFW's 4th coolest Independence day high (1924 is #1.)

Got some really nice down pours in Southern Tarrant, about 1.5" and a few light showers across Northern Tarrant as well. Not to much lightening but enough to cause a few brief power cycles the house. :ggreen:
