I got mine Oct. 24. I've been faithfully taking one each year, ever since I had a severe case of the flu in 1993/94. It lasted 3 straight weeks, fever for 8 days. Coughing, chills, aches like you wouldn't believe. I went to my doc twice, initially and then when it wouldn't go away. He said it was too late to get a flu shot, this was in January by then. He also said to get one the next fall and never, ever skip a year. I also came very close to it going into pneumonia and being put in the hospital. I was one of a handful of his patients he was checking on and watching carefully. And all I could do was take meds for the fever and aches, cough syrup to sleep at night and ride it out. And my girls were only 2 and 5 then, it was not a fun 3 weeks let me tell you all! So if you're on the fence about it - should I get one/should I skip - my advice is to get one! And I've never had it again, so bad. One winter my girls and husband swapped the flu around, and I was their caregiver, but did I get it? Nope! This was a few years later and I was thanking my lucky stars and my doctor for great advice.
