And with a 78 degree dp there’s plenty of juice to work with.

Same song, next verse. We’ll get our shot eventually. Unlike last summer, at least some folks are getting rain. And the periodic close calls keep it interesting if nothing else.

It is redeveloping a bit after it passed me, so DFW on east have some hope.

Had a short lived downpour here. The clouds and breeze are wonderful.

In Winter, there is the DFW Dry Slot

In Summer, it's the DFW Force Field

Weird day at DFW. High was 86 early this morning, upper 70s now with clouds and rain showers in the area. We've had a couple of these days to break up the heat.

FYI the lowest high temp for July 16 here is 81F.

That being said megadome heat ridge still poised to peak out into the southern plains from the southwest. The rain and disturbed regions in the north may not finalize the highest temps (closer to 105 than to 110) but those to the south will be well over 105+.

I may reach 100 on Tuesday, but hoping the higher-then-expected humidity will prevent that.

For reference, I expected to reach 107 but only got up to 98 earlier this year.

Could be worse and you lived down here in Austin where you’re lucky if you see a cloud

True, dfw is faring better than most other major cities in Texas still. Just disappointing to see appreciable rainfall come so close to where I live, yet go right around me. Glad others around the area got some though

Every time rain heads this way and I look at the radar, I swear it's Groundhog's Day and I've seen the radar imagery before.

Which is a very good thing for N and NE TX. I got another 0.63" yesterday. But just to the north they got slammed, again.

Nasty week of heat ahead then it looks like a minor cool off for the weekend. Hopefully with a shower and some cloud cover.

Mid-60's dewpoints headed to low 60's in DFW, so it's fine. And yesterday was an awesome break. July already half over. Gonna be ok.

Yup I know this week looks rough but soon the averages will be dropping. School starts in a month and football season is right around the corner

For DFW the hottest part of the year climatologically is right around the corner. July 23-Aug 14 the avg high is 97 every. single. day. Then it starts to relax...down to 93 average by Aug 31.

Although humidity has been awful this summer, at least we've avoided the stretches of 10-14+ days of 100+ temps. 3 here, 4 there, then a break. Even this week looks like maybe only 4 days and then we "cool" off for 3-4 days. Totally doable.

East Texas is almost always getting rain. You guys rarely ever have to worry about being in a drought.

Good grief! What if it was a La Nina year? Likely in the 110s basically nonstop.

We haven't really seen a full blown atmospheric coupling into a true +ENSO background state yet this summer. In fact, we are about to see something more in line with La Nina over the next couple of weeks, which opens the door for a tropical system to threaten the Gulf or SE.
