Re: Texas Summer 2023
We may make a run for 50s midweek... I mean yeah it's gonna be short lived but at least the fronts are getting stronger. August climo is still pretty horrendous even up here unfortunately

Low 70s in the morning will give us that sweet taste of freedom...only to be yanked quickly.
One step at a time.
The EPAC having an outbreak of storms isn't doing us any favors.

I'll start washing my car every day next week to make sure this happens.

Yeah we do need a weak depression or something (I understand not wanting a hurricane) or at least a large moisture plume to come out of the gulf. Westerlies needs to calm down, keeping it bone dry down there.
Normally I'd be excited for EPAC to enhance rainfall here but the storms are not moving in the right direction.

For a TC, that sure doesn’t look like much precip.

Given ensemble guidance and climo, next weekend is probably the last of the extreme heat for North Texas.

Re: Texas Summer 2023
I almost feel guilty enjoying all this pleasantly warm weather by myself. Temperature has hit 100F+ for the past 15 days. Hardly a cloud in the blue sky. I wonder where that snow miser is these days? Ah, if only this warm weather could last all year long...

Yes please! Best chance of rain here in over a month if the latest models verify for early next week.

Re: Texas Summer 2023
I'm looking forward to the cooler temperatures tomorrow and Wednesday. Maybe I'll get lucky with a shower as the front moves through the I-20 corridor this afternoon/evening.
Back to hot/dry later this week.

Can't we have both?

Agree with Bubba the overall height patterns looks to loosen grip. There may still be ridging on and off but the worst of it will likely be over after this last stretch.
Look towards the gulf and EPAC in combination for rain.

Yep I'm finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The southern half of TX should see our best rain chances in over a month early next week.
