I left work almost 4 hours ago- and just got home. I spent most of it meeting and greeting with the lovely people who take my freeway exit because we couldn't go forward and were trapped from going backward. (Taking bets on which goons are going to stall out in the waist deep water was amusing if nothing else) In the south west corner of 610 there are dozens of roads that are inaccessable and I had to walk from the local grocery store to get home (Left my car there because my street had a car floating down it) My husband is walking about 2 miles to get home from his side of town. Braes bayou is almost out of her banks even after the long break of rain.... It's a mess. Fortunetly I live on the second floor- so water damage shouldn't be possible.

Guess I need to edit my thread then. I had only heard about 10. And we do appreciate the heads up SF to say the least. This is one of the worst we have had in a long time. Only Allison compares in the recent past that I can think of. Still numerous warnings all over the area.

They've already mentioned a certain one from the past three times on the radio, comparing today's weather to her.
And then David just mentioned it a few posts above.
Ack!

This is unbelievable. This is very similar to the situation we were in back in December of last year when the tornado hit about 7 miles from home. Then we were under a tornado watch for over 24 consecutive hours and we went under tornado warnings 8 times.

The squall line bearing down on Houston doesn't look too bad, hopefully it doesn't flare up and become severe on y'all, I think everyone out there has seen their fair share of severe weather today. I think all I have to worry about now is a severe squall line sometime early tomorrow. The threat of tornadoes should not be that high if all this comes through in a squall line.
