Tornado Warning - Hardin County - SE Texas

Honey Island is about 20 miles to my northwest so I should be ok.

TORNADO WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA
1039 PM CST MON NOV 17 2003

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAKE CHARLES HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
HARDIN COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS

* UNTIL 1145 PM CST

* AT 1034 PM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
A TORNADO 6 MILES SOUTHWEST OF SARATOGA...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35
MPH.

* THIS TORNADIC STORM WILL BE NEAR SARATOGA BY 1045 PM CST...
HONEY ISLAND BY 1055 PM CST
KOUNTZE BY 1100 PM CST
VILLAGE MILLS BY 1105 PM CST

It looks like the 2 lines will consolidate and charge on through to Louisiana...it's gonna get nasty. Everyone in SE TX stay safe tonight.

I like SPC depction for Tuesday but the 0Z Eta makes me also very concerned about LA tomorrow.

Not a tremedous amount of shear over LA but with that vort swinging through... gives me the creeps (and a desire to drive down :roll: )

As SF correctly noted, SE will see more shearing. I think the 0Z eta puts the cutoff a bit too far west but that is simply a guess for now.

Kelly it looks like the storms will move over the Beaumont area in about an hour. I would advise you to stay up in case any Tornado warnings are issued. Keep us posted.

PT as noted those two lines will have merged by the time they reach you and as BarometerBob put i so aptly in a private chat tonight-"all hell is going to break loose" YOU NEED TO BE WATCHING CLOSELY AS WELL!!! STAY SAFE!! I finally feel like I can hit the bed without too much fear.
