Oftentimes the post is only cemented in the ground next to the house but not physically attached to it. In many cases it changes how the insurance carrier grants coverage. I've had many clients get the fence covered by their policy or even lose coverage of thousands of dollars for just a couple dollars of screws.

Cheaper yet (for regular flash light and solar) -Dollar Tree

Going to make note of this. Never considered that as a viable option.

Sure seems to be a East of North movement on the Cuban radar, not sure if my eyes are playing tricks on me or what but I’ve been watching that radar for awhile.

We can somewhat start tracking the center on Key West radar now. This is around 46k feet up.

Symmetrical blowups like that remind me of fungus or bacterial cultures really enjoying their time in a petri dish.

That does really look like someone set off a very powerful bomb, I am really curious what this will look like later tonight or in the
morning. It could be very scary.

Hard to say but looks like a northern eyewall is forming.

Yes, they are an excellent option and have been part of my go kit for a few years. The only drawback is unless you remove/block the battery they will all come on early. Depending on the time of year you only get a few hours use. I have "adjusted" mine to keep them from lighting up early by blocking the battery contacts but not all lights have that option.

Maybe I've been looking at my PC screen too long but I swear I saw a small eye pop out on the IR loop.

I think it will be a hurricane by morning with the latest being noon tomorrow if it continues pulsing up and down.

It's possible, or they may wait until latter depending upon what happens overnight. I think it will be named a hurricane before noon tomorrow though. I think it will be a strong Cat 2 at landfall. Then again there isn't much difference between a strong cat 2 and a minimal cat 3.

Her wind-field has really expanded today. It was just 70 miles 12 hours ago.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150 miles (240 km)
from the center. An observation in Cabo De San Antonio reported a
wind gust of 78 mph (126 km/h).

I agree, by noon for sure. Won’t take much to get her there so I wouldn’t be shocked to wake up to a hurricane.
