Looks like our draught might be over here on the west Florida coast. Sustained rain with periods of heavy downpours for a few hours now. Had a few gusts that were tropical storm force so far. Nothing crazy though.

Current radar presentation doesn't support an EWRC.

In fact, the eyewall now looks stronger than ever by a wide margin

I’m debating between pulling an all-nighter or setting the alarm for 4 am.

Setting mine for 6 but I have to be up anyway to take my mom for a medical procedure. We might get to drive in some TS force winds though! I doubt I get much sleep tonight!

This stuff is as addicting as crack! Worse though when model watching, but it's just nowcasting now.

There will be no sleep for us tonight. Just poured my 2nd glass of wine, sitting in my sunroom for now. Will head inside when the storms start rolling in about an hour or so.

Good idea but maybe not a gar. I was about 10 pages back but I was one of the people earlier who mentioned Tallahassee and trees. They are everywhere in that city and I’m in New Orleans or Pensacola that also have probably millions of trees. But anyone who ever spent any time there knows what I’m talking about Lots of hardwoods and limbs just waiting to take out power lines. So y’all in Tally beware of that hazard which almost always kills a few people after hurricanes.

Here in Beaufort County expecting power outages some minor surge just because we haven't had an approach like this in quite some time. Elsa came through a bit more NE than ENE approach how this seems to swing by. Elsa also was getting sheared off from the north and was a minimum TS and yet it still produced power outages from down trees and a few Tornadoes EF0/1 in our County with only about 3-4 hours of on and off storms/bands. Last storm we had with significant impact was Matthew in 2016. I'm honestly more concerned for significant flooding and surge in parts of Charleston.

Once I see the REDS and GREENS Converge on a Base Velocity. ... I'm There!!

This is NOT an Official Forecast....Just my Opinion. For official information, please refer to the NHC and NWS products.

Don't see an EWRC starting on radar. One could happen later tonight...who knows. Every advisory seems to bump up Idalia's landfall intensity with Cat 4 now on the table. Going to be massive surge damage, I expect US98 to be completely washed away in certain areas. I-10 will likely be impassable due to down trees like after Michael. Hope everyone well in Idalia path......MGC

Side by side towers south of the CoC.
Haven't seen that before.
Building a massive eyewall and obscuring the eye.
Going to be a helluva punch

So we are looking at a ballpark 8am landfall if I'm reading NHC advisory correctly, right?

Anyone know when next recon takes off? Would love to have constant recon in up to landfall
