Re: WPAC: HAIKUI - Typhoon
At 2pm TST (06Z), the AWS on Ludao/Green Island just south of the eye recorded sustained winds of 29.8 m/s (58kt) gusting to 45.7 m/s (89kt) and an SLP of 961.2 mb — suggesting a central pressure around 945mb.

Update: Min station pressure was 940.2 mb (110m elev) or ~952mb SLP at 2:40pm TST. This was likely due to a mesovortex though. There was a sudden ~10mb pressure drop in 10 minutes (from 949mb to 940.2mb) and this also corresponds to the 55-60 dBZ values seen on radar.

Re: WPAC: HAIKUI - Typhoon
Taiwan's first typhoon (≥64kts) landfall in six years. An incredibly long streak for such an exposed location.

Re: WPAC: HAIKUI - Post-Tropical
the Remnants of Haikui ended up more damaging to Hongkong than Typhoon Saola ( signal 10 typhoon)
