This looks awful right now. Center is exposed now and it's getting blasted by shear. Should have a better chance at intensification further north so a hurricane can't be ruled out but it's certainly got its work cut out for it.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

It appears as if, with the exception of Lee, the MDR has been unfavorable in terms of intensification. The subtropics appear to be more favorable than the MDR, which is what you should expect for an El Niño year.

The hurricane models have been very consistent about Margot starting to improve and intensify tomorrow, so it should become a lot more interesting soon. Decent chance we get a relatively high latitude major out of this.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Re: ATL: MARGOT - Tropical Storm - Discussion
Looking a lot better today. While it’s still sheared, convection is attempting to wrap down shear and is in general more organized than the last few days. We should see a hurricane in a few days, maybe even a major this week if Margot gets lucky.
