Re: Texas Fall 2023
Solid storm here in Norman. Had a pretty big hail core for a while there but luckily ended weakened as it moved in. Pretty nice event for September

Thunder is crazy here, just saw a report of Golf Ball Sized hail in Dale, OK per NWS Thunderstorm Warning source.

Big lightning strike here and some of these pictures out west look like May. The Euro apparently has 6 inches in spots around here... gonna be interesting to see if it actually happens anywhere

Nice.
Ended up with 0.85" here between round 1 (0.42") and round 2 (0.43"). Even had a bonus round nearby about 2:00 this morning but nothing measurable here. Grateful for every drop.
Looks like DFW ended the day with 0.29".

Re: Texas Fall 2023
Even I got in on some downpour action. Not much but ended up getting a quick 0.09" at my house.
*Edit - added another 0.02" after lunch!

Re: Texas Fall 2023
NWS FTW
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across North Texas this afternoon with the best chances near the Red River. By tonight, a complex of thunderstorms may move into the region from the north/northwest. Some storms could become strong to severe, with gusty winds and hail the main hazards. If you are in the highlighted area consider securing any loose objects that can be blown around in the wind and continue to check back for new details as they become available.
Chances for showers and storms will increase over the weekend, with Sunday and Monday having the greatest chances. It is still too early to go into detail on storm intensity, so make sure to keep updated with the forecast as we go into the weekend. High temps over those days will be in the 80s and 90s, and low temps in the 60s and 70s.
Above normal temperatures are expected on Saturday, the warmest day of the extended forecast. High temperatures will be in the 90s to around 100 degrees. These temps are around 5 to 15 degrees above normal. DFW's forecast high is 97, which is close to the record of 99. Waco's forecast high is 96, with a record high of 101. Keep updated with the forecast to see how the temps stack up to climatology.

Re: Texas Fall 2023
FWD raised Pops earlier but now starting to walk them back a bit. HI-res guidance at 12z & 18z hasn't really supported much of a threat for DFW but SPC actually expanded the slight area.

I was watching that storm from the SW of Denton city on a hill. There was some rotation in it at one point, and my radar app along with FWD confirmed when I called them. Nothing to serious but neat to watch and see as well as be correct at what I was seeing.
There were others watching too, it was quite the show.
