AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSONVILLE FL
930 AM EST WED NOV 19 2003

...SHORT TERM...
WATCHES STILL ONGOING AT THIS HOUR OVER THE EASTERN AND SOUTHERN
PORTIONS OF OUR FLORIDA CWA. HAVE LEFT MARION OUT OF THE SOUTHERN
MOST WATCH BOX AND EXPECT ALL OF MY COUNTIES TO BE WATCH FREE BY
THE 10 AM EXPIRATION OF #966. THUS FAR...SHEAR HAS JUST BEEN TOO
STRONG FOR MEAGER INSTABILITY AND VERTICAL DEVELOPMENT OF STORMS HAS
BEEN NON-EXISTENT. WILL HAVE TO MONITOR EXTREME SOUTHERN TIER FOR THE
NEXT HALF HOUR AS GULF MOISTURE HAS CONTRIBUTED TO INCREASING
INSTABILITY...BUT OVERALL EXPECT THAT CONDITIONS WILL QUICKLY
IMPROVE THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON. WATER VAPOR SHOWS DECENT DRY PUNCH
APPROACHING FROM THE WEST WHICH SHOULD SCOUR OUT THE LOW TOPPED
SHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON AND WILL WORD ACCORDINGLY IN ZONE UPDATE.

I wish I heard the thunder that went through this morning. I only got the "rare early morning rain."

The radar around noon (on "Early Warning Doppler 9000") on WFTV-TV 9 indicated a narrow band of red appoaching the east coast of Florida, east of me.

Hope it didn't get too bad there. I missed the action (tracking that is). ;)
