One model showing rain isn't enough to get excited. Had way too many false starts.

The signs are encouraging though. Gefs and eps seem to trending slightly upward in the long range, with accumulated precip means around 2” over the 16 day period. My hopes are up but I’ll keep my expectations low until this moves up in time

I'll believe it when I see it. I have a rule where I cut QPF totals in half to account for the ongoing -PDO.

Until we get out of that regime, we're gonna have a bad time precip wise.

The RadarScope app allows you to look at archived data. I have successfully used it to file a hail claim.

GFS trending wetter on the 12z. Looks like most of the state would get in on the rain. We really need this to not be a bust!

Is anyone having any connection issues with Tropical Tidbits? In the last couple weeks when I try from my laptop, it shows,

You are currently offline, or your network connection is having trouble, and we are unable to show you the page you requested.

I usually use Chrome. I tried it on MS Edge, and still get the same message.

It works fine on the smartphone.

I usually use Pivotal, but I just checked, and TT is working fine here even on my school connection that blocks everything.

Weird, I'm using my work laptop, and it usually works fine. Maybe there's a new firewall on it. Oops.lol

Bump.

Please be advised most insurance companies will slam you on renewals after you file a hail claim. I’m not sure how bad your roof is but don’t go forward with a claim just because a roofer said too.

It's because I'm taking time off work next week. Same thing happened last year. If anyone wants to give me a job that comes with 18 weeks of vacation every year, this drought will be over in a hurry.

I switched insurance in August because my premiums were going up so much and I found another provider that kept my premium as the same rate as last year. I did a virtual inspection for them (sent videos and pictures) that was due a few weeks after the insurance went into effect. They just sent me a cancellation notice last week due to "unacceptable condition of roof" without any other details. The roof is about 10-11 years old. After calling, then said it was due to excessive granular loss and curling shingles. I had a roofer come yesterday to inspect my roof he said I had no storm damage. I figured that was the case because I would pretty much know if I have had any significant hail at my house. I wasn't sure about wind damage though, since we have had a lot of that this year, and there have been several roof replacements on my street this summer. He also said I didn't have any granular loss. I do have a few shingles that are beginning to curl, but in his words, "in my professional opinion, you do not need a new roof, sir."

I have two more roofers coming today to give me their opinion. I think my likeliest course of action is just to find a new insurance provider and keep my current roof. The guy yesterday said some local insurance companies would be more willing to work with me based on giving them his recommendation that I don't need a new roof.

I’m sorry you are dealing with that insurance companies are the worst.
