So my son has a baseball tournament out in Clyde Texas tomorrow. They still haven’t decided to cancel which seems pretty crazy to me given the forecast. It’s a turf field so I guess that means the wind and cold doesn’t factor into their decisions lol.

You shouldn’t even be using globals when the event is near. That’s what mesoscale models are for.

wxman57 na that wall is going to come crashing down lol, the global models are almost useless for cold airmasses, it will be colder than what the globals show

He just uses them to screw with us because they show the warmest outcome, which is obviously what he wants.

Been getting rain since I woke up at 8 and MBY has never looked greener.

Oklahoma Panhandle and parts of Kansas are getting either ice or sleet on the ground. Which is pretty impressive since it doesn't look like our cold source is through just yet.

Flash Flood Watch extended for DFW until tomorrow at noon for another 1-2" of rain, with some areas seeing 3"+. DFW airport has officially crossed 6" over the last 72hrs.

Is there a track on the front? Just curious if the hourly forecast is doing well with it.

The cold front and cold air behind it up north looks much cooler than most hi-res right now.

Gonna have to keep a watch as it rolls through Route 66 tonight. Most precip will probably start sleet with 850mb freezing above it.

The cold air is approaching Temple, Tyler and Texarkana right now. Temps are in the mid 70s in front of that line and quickly drop into the 50s behind it with a further drop into the 40s and maybe 30s further behind it. The front will drive through the rest of the state today. Today and tomorrow will be cold and wet for many across the state.

20 degree temp gradient across Smith County currently is impressive for October. Gonna be a cold and wet day.

Basically winter here or the closest thing we've had so far for sure without a real shot at frozen precip... Gonna be struggling to stay around 40 all day
