We haven't had an official one until yesterday. We had minor weakening of the pv but that's about it.

Yeah I just went and read her tweets. Thank you for the clarification feels like it got lost amongst the hype the last week.

I understand most people are focusing on the cold and winter weather currently, but make no mistake, it looks to get cold again after a brief warmup. Big ridge develops over Alaska, which I think can lead to a big icestorm somewhere in southern plains but that's speculation at this point

Something to watch for sure. Maybe there will be more moisture to play with next time it’s cold.

Itryatgolfyup makes sense we will have a brief and i mean very brief relaxation period, gotta let our source region reload again, once the ridge rebuilds over alaska, it looks to stay cold through all of February, as it should be

Nice bit of very dry snow in Edmond. Blowing around quite a bit, but grass is getting covered and around 3/4” on my table in the backyard. Not much, but fun to see.

Already seeing sporadic outages across dfw on the oncor map. Says about 9400 customers affected. Are they already doing rolling blackouts?

Up to 49F and sunny here in Houston. I'm going to have to switch on the AC if it gets any hotter.

Do not know for sure but I think they start to announce rolling outages. Seems to just be a lot of individual different items. Not many individual larger outages just lots of little...

If ERCOT does have rolling blackouts It would happen Monday and Tuesday mornings when demand is at its peak.

I'd say considering the dry air and the fact it was 2 degrees at the airport last hour were doing better than I expected

That’s what I figured, which is why I was surprised. I’m curious why there’s already 12500 customers without power when no precip has fallen in the affected areas and demand hasn’t exceeded supply yet

Been stuck in the upper 20's here in SA all day. So much for that "warm up" in the afternoon that globals had depicted. Another example among several in the past that shallow arctic air always wins. Takes longer to drain into SE Texas (Ouachita Mountains) but eventually it gets there too.

Maybe You guys In SE Louisiana and us in South Ms can get a suprise tomorrow night/Tuesday morning. Not sure why but I just feel like we could get more sleet than expected or maybe even some snow just before it ends.

Idea: Is there a mega mega billionaire who wants to spend all their money building a huge lake north of DFW for lake effect snows?! :)

It’s cold enough I could make snow with a snow gun but the neighbors would hate that noise.
