Snow done in Edmond. One inch exactly. Sun peeking through now…5 degrees and only a few more hours of sun to “heat” things up. Thinking negative temps are a probability for tomorrow morning.

Another example among several in the past that shallow arctic air always wins. Takes longer to drain into SE Texas (Ouachita Mountains) but eventually it gets there too.
I’m in the lower 40’s here in Wharton and places just an hour W or N of me are in the upper 20’s. Don’t recall this issue before with past fronts.

Re: Texas Winter 2023-2024
Pretty much what was forecast here since the models fell apart Friday. Very similar to Christmas 22. An inch or two maybe. Hopefully it isn't like that otherwise because it never really snowed again here
yeah that's how bad last winter was..
It's again a very dry powdery snow. I just want one big heavy wet snow before the winter is out. That's all

Is Denton County still to get anything?
Checking my weather station I'm stuck 13.8F with a -3F dewpoint.
Temp has sat all day.

Outside of an ice storm that won’t verify on the Canadian it’s looking bare for us in Oklahoma and Texas, at least y’all will be colder than us. Some more chances of something popping up.

Looks like a freeze all the way to Galveston Tuesday morning. Hold off on the AC!
56 and full sun so far on Galvestons west end. Not many came down to prepare their homes for freezing temperatures unfortunately. If the freeze comes.

Forecast high for MBY was 20F, sitting at 13F, don't think we are making it to 20F today.

Nothing much to do in Galveston. Possibly 31-32F briefly Wednesday morning. A light freeze like that will not freeze any pipes.

Fifteen degrees, living room fire, and Cowboys playoffs. It's a good day.

I don't think DFW airport has gone above 16F today which is the January all time record lowest high temperature.
However, the high temperature today occurred just after midnight 21F.

Clearing off up here. Most likely going to be colder tonight. I’ll bet we beat the 7 low for today in 1972, I think it was.

Our friend Steve McCauley
A light wintry mix continues for mainly the eastern half of north Texas with minor accumulations in far eastern areas where a little more moisture is being observed. The air is so dry here in the Metroplex that most - though perhaps not all - of the flurries and freezing drizzle is sublimating (i.e., disappearing) not long after hitting the ground.
There will be an increase in the wintry mix later tonight into the day Monday, but it is the eastern zones that will continue to be the most likely area for significant accumulations (up to 1 to 2 inches of snow/sleet). This will generally be east of a line from Clarksville to Waco and the farther east you go, the more significant the wintry mix will be.
Although we will stay below freezing until lunchtime Wednesday, there is a slight improvement in the temperature outlook. Last week, as you may recall, it looked like the clouds would clear out late Monday night/Tuesday morning which would have allowed temperatures to fall between 5° F in the north to 12° F in the southern sections of north Texas.
It now appears clouds should hold through Tuesday morning before clearing out. This means we get to keep our insulating blanket a few hours longer, so temperatures may only bottom out between 9° and 15° Tuesday morning. Perhaps we can consider this a moral victory against this Arctic Air invasion!
Meanwhile, the Ice Angels have made a strong return to the holler as sap/water in the Frostweed Plant burst out of their stems overnight creating these delicate ice sculptures in the field. it's basically the only thing I like about 12°F temperatures.

Still holding out hope here in Collin County lol
CMC & RGEM are still on board for single temps in the DFW area. They also push single digits down deep into the Bayous of South LA.
