Well the NWS keeps going up here... Now up to 4 inches possible. One thing I'm noticing is that it may be crazy still during morning rush tomorrow

Models are now backing off rain chances for the next couple weeks. Possibly a boring weather pattern ahead of us.

GFS coming in much colder with the frontal passage on friday- saturday timeframe, 1046 mb high dropping out of canada, nothing too impressive, but some chilly weather and does have a light wintry mix in the hill country fwiw

Just switched to snow here now, hoping we end up getting a decent amount

Need that trough to dig a little more south and west on the GFS 18z run, but very intriguing run for friday- saturday timeframe ( hour 144)

I swear I've seen something flying around besides rain in the last hour but maybe I'm going crazy. This winter is doing that to me lol although other people in the metro have reported it too
I'm feeling about as good as I can feel here tbh though I keep wondering how much bigger it would have been if we were colder this week

Yeah I think you'll see a pretty nice amount, at least compared to recent winters. Already starting to accumulate here

Re: Texas Winter 2023-2024
Current NWS forecast still says "little or no accumulation" until tonight but we're already seeing it here. Forecast calls for 3-4 inches but I think this could be shaping up to be an over performance

So basically those big totals the models were showing aren’t going to verify because it’s too warm?

Those big totals on the models are almost always overdone.

Wow it’s been snowing nonstop all day, from Lubbock to Amarillo.

Yeah I don't think anyone ever truly believed those would verify. There was always this problem of how warm it's been and how warm it was gonna be today
It has been funny watching the NWS slowly increase totals at least over here though. We've gone from a half inch to maybe 4 inches in a day and a half

Pretty weak sauce event imo but better than nothing if you get 4”. Shoot, I’d go bananas if we got 4” down here but for your area that’s meh.

I mean, even a few inches is a pretty impressive event for OK.

It's like I said last night Tulsa hasn't seen more than an inch and a half in one storm in 2 years so the bar is pathetically low

But until yesterday afternoon the NWS barely even had more than a dusting here(which we had an inch in January) so I mean this has come a long way. It was always clear to me at least it wouldn't be a historic storm here
